The first thing that comes to my mind when I think about patience is me, sitting still and waiting for something to happen. This is my idea about being patient. My first impulse and reaction to the concept equate patience with inaction, and upon deeper reflection, I can also spot the impassible face of resignation.
So, me waiting for something to happen means I'm not in control of what happens. Not being in control of what happens is a no-no, not good. I've been taught that I have to be in control and that I can control outcomes. What they didn't tell me is that I can't be in control of everything, at all times.
I wish they had taught me that Patience is one of the most amazing journeys in life that can take you to places where you feel at home and peace. I wish they hadn't spoiled its beauty and nobility by overriding it with outcomes. I wish they had taught me the art of preserving, cultivating, and transmitting it throughout my life.
What happened to Patience is that it was robbed of its essential parts like perseverance, consistency, and presence, and eclipsed by the allure of fast results.
Patience, with all its nuances, is the theme for this month. I'm very happy that you chose to explore and rediscover this often-forgotten ability. We may have different ideas and associations about its meaning, but it has never been about hopelessness. On the contrary, being patient is daring to dream. It’s an act of self-love and care.
When it comes to dreaming, I still dare to dream and believe, despite all the odds of our times. I remain patient as I engage in trial and error. The experiment with the Clarity Pages and the Clarity Canvas went quite well, thanks to the kindred souls who showed up and encouraged me with their presence and actions.
So here we are, with plenty of touch points for connections this month as well. I'd appreciate insights into what could work and be interesting and useful for you, so don't hesitate to get in touch and share your thoughts with me. Simply reply under this newsletter.
